Activities

At the outset, the activities described here are thought to be the activities initiated by the network.

The NMR board has decided to  hold board meetings thrice a year. These meetings are two-day events, with one day reserved for NMR board meetings, and the other for activities open to NMR members. These could include a panel at a relevant conference or researcher training activities.

Activities in the network has so far included:

  • Five board/network meetings

    • Copenhagen, January 25th, 2010
    • Oslo, June 15th, 2010
  • Membership seminar, Stockholm University, June 3rd 2009
  • The Metropolis Conference, September 2009
    • Involvement in planning and hosting
    • Setting up and manning a NMR booth – including development of NMR folder and poster
    • PhD student grants
  • Participation in The 6th ETMU Days: Finland and Innovative Cultural Diversity
  • Planning and finalizing negotiations in relation to issuing the Nordic Journal of Migration Research
  • Planning and launch of the first issue of a quarterly NMR newsletter
