The Centre for Research on Ethnic Relations and Nationalism (CEREN) is a
multidisciplinary research centre based at the Research Institute at the Swedish School of Social Science, University of Helsinki.


The main activities and tasks of CEREN include:
conducting and supporting research and teaching in the multidisciplinary field of Ethnic Relations and Nationalism;
arranging seminars and postgraduate teaching;
coordinating the Master's Degree Programme in Ethnic Relations, Cultural Diversity and Integration ERI;
contributing to developing national and international networks for research and teaching, such as
European Doctorate In Migration, Diversity and Identities EDMIDI (HumanitarianNet)
Nordic Migration Research 
Nordic Research Network for Media, Migration and Society MigraNord
The Society for the Study of Ethnic Relations and International Migration ETMU (Finland)
working together with official bodies and immigrant and minority groups in the struggle against racism and xenophobia.
